Gundam Marker
Gundam Marker
Well, there are actually many markers available. The Gundam Marker, however, is something "anime modelers" will be more familiar with. There are two types: arcylic and enamel, and also comes in different sizes. The enamel one is good for painting panel lines.
Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color
Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color
This is the type of color I use, because I can use water to clean my brushes and airbrush after use. You can thin it with water, but I still use thinner to thin it because thinner works better, especially when you are applying them with an airbrush.

Gunze Sangyo Auto Color
Color sprays for cars. Excellent.
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color
Solvent based colors. I think this is the best amomg all others. I do not use a lot of this one because I already has a large "collection" of Gunze Aqueous Color. However, I am currently switching back to this.

Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color Spray
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color Spray
Mr. Color sold as sprays. If you don't want to spend money on an airbrush, this is the thing you should consider.
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Metal Color
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Metal Color
This type of color creates a metal-like surface after buffing. After buffing, it sure looks like metal, but I think it is a little bit too dull. You cannot create a shiny surface.
Pastel
Pastel
For special effects.
You can buy colors one by one. If you buy enough, they will give you a box. Must be used with fixatives.
Tamiya Acylic Color

Tamiya Enamel Color
Tamiya Enamel Color
Since it is immisible with Gunze aqueous color, this is great for "wetting" and painting panel lines. Enamel colors dry slowly, which makes it best for painting with a brush. When paints dry slowly, it is less likely to see brush strokes.
Please note that we cannot use enamel to paint vinyl. They would react chemically and the vinyl would slowly be eaten away.
Tamiya Enamel Thinner
Tamiya Enamel Thinner
Taimya's X-20 is the enamel thinner.
Tamiya's X-20A is the acylic thinner.
Testors Enamel Paint
Testors Enamel Paint
Hey, I won't miss this one. Testors' enamels work like Tamiya's.
Thinner
Thinner
Buy the thinner of the paint you use, and nothing else. You need to thin your paint before you use them, especially if you are using airbrush. Gunze has recently released some thinner for customed for airbrushing. I haven't tried it out, but I guess there's not much difference.
